Great Thai - Chinese Restaurant! We really enjoyed the unique dishes and flavors they offer. They have the normal Chinese favorites plus some unique culinary Dishes. We enjoyed the Thai Chicken and The Thai Mango Shrimp. We enjoyed them both. The mango was lightly sweet and the chicken was smooth and flavorful. We had the egg drop and wonton soups which were rich and good. Definitely want to try some of the other unique dishes like the walnut shrimp.

Tried this place first time ever this evening for takeout. We ordered online for two and it took about 20 minutes for my husband to drive there. He had to wait at least another 25 minutes before the food was ready. The girl at the register had no idea what my husband was talking about when he said he placed our order online. Surprisingly my Walnut Shrimp was still hot when he got home - hence that may have been the problem. Overall the taste of the dish was really good, but the shrimp's battered coating was not cooked on the underside and was slimy inside. If I hadn't been extra hungry, I wouldn't have been able to eat it. I don't know if the restaurant waited too late to try to cook it; or were in a big hurry or both. Krab Ragoons were just okay and not much flavor but tasted fresh. Husband ordered the House Fried Rice but complained that it only comes in a large size and not offered in a smaller size like the rest of the fried rice dishes there. He also got the Shrimp Lo Mein. He said both dishes were tasty and seasoned properly, and were still quite warm. All-in-all we would probably try Koyame again - just to give them a second chance. My *real* rating would probably be part way between 3 and 4 stars.

Have eaten here 3 times in past 10 days- first time for dinner, ordered from regular menu, second time lunch with really good pricing and 3rd time off of early bird where the combo dinners can't be beat. First of all it's spotless, second the service is exceptionally good and last but not least the food is excellent. Don't miss this wonderful Chinese and Thai food. We are only here for a couple weeks and I wish I could take it back to Austin with me!

We don't get to this area very often, but when we do we will definitely be back! We both had VERY good dinners and the service was excellent.

Ordered six items for take out. The online ordering system worked great. The house fried rice, Mongolian beef, Orange chicken, fired dumplings and Wonton soup were excellent. Stay away from the hot and sour soup. Will order more great again soon.

I have been here many time, because it's really excellent ! This place is a little jewel near The Villages. Fast friendly service. This is a family restaurant and they do a wonderful job. Lunch specials are around six bucks. Dinners are 9 to about 13. Read the other reviews.

In the mood for some chinese, I found Koyame in The Villages. The place was busy and I was the only person under of the age of 60 which is telltale sign that you're in The Villages. This small restaurant is welcoming as it looks more like a dine in place than a take out place. They have many tables and the kitchen is open like most Chinese places. They had a decent Lunch menu and the pricing was great. For $6.95, I chose the Sizzling Chicken & Shrimp that came with white rice and a cup of Wonton soup. For a dollar more, you can order fried rice but I love white rice so I stuck with the basic. The wonton soup had great flavor and the Wonton dough skin was light and transparent, giving you more opportunity to taste the ground pork filling. The main dish was prepared well but I had hoped for more shrimp. I was served many pieces of chicken but only two shrimp, yes I counted! I imagine that for $6.95, more than two would not be profitable. It was served along with onions, broccolli and zucchini and it came together very well. Service was fast and I was in and out in less than 35 minutes. I did not see any dessert on the menu but I was given a fortune cookie with my bill. Koyame is located on US 27 in the Publix Plaza next to The Villages Medical Center.

After my initial visit a couple of weeks ago I returned twice and both times the food was very good so I thought it best to bump up a star. The Singapore mei fun (thin noodles in a very light curry sauce) was the primary test item as very few restaurants serve it and it was delicious to boot. A little on the spicy side and the curry is distinct so if you like a little kick I would recommend you give it a try. We had several lunch specials which are a good value for $6.50 or so. We actually had enough for lunch and a light dinner. The key for me is light on the sauce. Most Chinese restaurants ladle on the sauce to appease the American palate but you'll find a lighter hand here.

Love to walk in and see an open kitchen! Great food arguably the best Chinese in The Villages. My wife had the General Tsao Chicken that was perfectly prepared and I had MooShoo Pork and the meal was excellent! The service was attentive and friendly and the prices were what we expected. This will be our new Chinese food place!!

Do notI repeat DO NOT come here for Thai cuisine! I ordered red curry shrimp with extra veggies and it was terrible. The sauce looked more brown and there wasn't a trace of coconut milk...Just terrible! I will NEVER go back! If this is the best Thai restaurant in The Villages I am screwed! Majorely screwed! I should have just driven to Royal Orchid in Ocala -_- this what I get for being lazy...

Delicious!! Mongolian beef, General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp with Broccoli, and fried rice were all equally great!

I came here for the second time last night for dinner with my parents. It's tucked into a strip mall behind Sharon Morse medical center and you can't miss the bright red lit-up sign. It was an hour before close, but there were a few tables of customers there when we arrived. The service was quick and attentive. We ordered 2 dinner combos (red curry chicken and general tso's chicken) as well as the schezuan vegetables and tofu. With the combos, we got a bowl of hot & sour soup -- it was ready quickly, piping hot, and delicious. All of the dishes were served very hot, with ample portion sizes (enough for leftovers!) and flavorful. If I'm ever craving chinese food and am in the area, I will come back to Koyame -- simple, classic, american "chinese" food just the way it should be :).

I have been on a search for something better than the all you can eat Asian buffet When I arrived the place was packed I noticed how good the dishes looked and everything cooked in full view First course was wonton soup, by far the best thing I ordered Pork chop suey was made from barbecue pork and the meat tasted off and was tuff The cashew chicken very bland like my dinner Spring roll was nasty But the service is great Place is clean I am going to try a lunch and give it a second chance A friend recommended them and they are busy so maybe we just had a bad night It looks like a family business which I do like to support So hopefully my second visit will be better

Not the best I've ever had. But still worth a trip. My family and I stopped here and loved what we referred to as "Asian chips & salsa" just wonton chips and duck sauce, but still a nice touch. I had the General Tso's. Which was not very spicy, but I enjoyed it. Cashew chicken and pepper steak not bad wither. Could use some more seasoning to increase flavor. But I will return.

Loved it! Had 3 couples sharing dishes and everything was wonderful. Service prompt and friendly. A gem for Oriental food in The Villages neighborhood.

Wow, this one was unexpected. I was just looking for a nearby restaurant from The Villages hospital and this was next door and in the Publix shopping center. As Asians, my mother and I loved this place. We had a seafood dish and the shrimp, scallops and lobster were all great, at an amazingly low price. The Pad Thai is different from others and really good. I wish I could go back and try other dishes, maybe when I visit again.

Best Asian food in The Villages. The hot and sour soup is perfectly balanced. The pan fried dumplings looked so pretty when they were served it was almost a shame to eat them, but we did and they tasted as good as they looked. They make a pad Thai that is delicious and somehow tastes lighter than traditional pad Thai. If you want something that's a cut above the usual Chinese take out, this is it.

No question, the best Asian restaurant in The Villages. Usually order the red curry chicken but today tried their mango shrimp. Fantastic. They offer really cheap lunch combos that are excellent but we always order from the main menu because portions are larger and their is more to choose from. We also always order a couple of bowls of their wanton soup which is unusually good.

Husband & I came here for lunch. We each had the sweet & spicy shrimp with brown rice. I had raspberry ice tea & he had green ice tea. The food, atmosphere & service were fantastic. and, they kept our teas filled the entire time. Will Definitely go back.

Excellent Thai curry (both chicken and shrimp) and the Mongolian beef was outstanding. Our table had white, brown, and fried rice options- all were perfect. Happy hour two for one wine and beer was also a big hit. Loved this place!

Perhaps i spoke too soon. My previous reciew assessed the restaurant on their Thai dish. This time, i had their Chinese selections. Much better. The General Tso chicken was plump, fresh and full of flavor. The sauce had plenty of orange goodness plus a soft kick of spice to add interest. The cashew chicken was full of good quality cashews and fresh veggies. The wonton soup was perfectly seasoned and the seaweed salad was standard, but served in ample portions.

Best Chinese in The Villages we have found. Others recommended Bamboo Bistro, but their hot and sour soup was terrible! Koyame has excellent hot and sour soup! They offer brown rice, and all the stir-fried dishes we have tried are excellent. Got Carryout once and noticed you get a lot more food than eating in at lunch, but there's enough on the pretty square white plate when you eat in. What a great bargain for such quality!

My parents are becoming regulars here and I just went tonight with them. Nice presentation on the combo meals, good service, great fresh veggies in the Thai dishes, and good flavor across everything. A little noisy, and nothing fancy, but a welcome relief from the nearby chains. If you want to try something new and reasonably spicy, try the lemongrass soup with shrimp or chicken. Fresh lemongrass flavor with an awesome kick.

Color me happy. As previously mentioned I spend a majority of my youth in the San Francisco Bay Area, so I'm use to super yummy Asian cuisine. Since moving here to central Florida I've had decent Chinese food but nothing that made me feel like home. Until now, yay for me. While the servers weren't overly friendly, we were seated right off and drink orders taken immediately. Now I know soda is a weird thing to comment on but we've all had flat or overly syrupy soda and while not a make or break detail it matters. Soda here was perfect and refills we're plentiful. There was a bowl of fried wontons and duck sauce awaiting us at the booth. Complimentary I might add. While pleased I was still expecting to be disappointed. I'm no food critic but I having a lot of Asian friends, I've had the real deal. So playing it safe we ordered a started of fried pork dumplings and they were delish. Then we shared an lunch order of general tso's chicken with fried rice. The menu indicated it was spicy but I found it quite mild so don't be scared. It was a large portion of delectable grub. Everything fresh and made to order. No, buffet in sad germ infested food warmers. Most lunch meals are priced super reasonable at an average of $6.95 per lunch. So worth it. Koyame rocked it!
